lost, I am
have been for a while
have been for how long now
this maze
it’s you
your vines
wrapped around
my feet
and toes
screaming
but if you let me
I’ll soothe your feather skin
lost, I am
but I don’t mind to stay
lost, I am
have been for a while
have been for how long now
this maze
it’s you
your vines
wrapped around
my feet
and toes
screaming
but if you let me
I’ll soothe your feather skin
lost, I am
but I don’t mind to stay
just as I reach it
it explodes into a thousand shards
it rains down
cuts me
tears open
sleeping scars
there is a world full of stars out there
don’t you know
I didn’t
until I was shown
by the ocean so blue
and so bright
the ocean that turns to sky
only at night
these days it’s so hard being a word artist
popping out words like pills
choosing them carefully
the right combination
to stir feelings and thoughts
to get a reaction
well here’s a reaction
this right here
I’m so aware of me
of you reading me
I don’t know what I am any more
and
I want to be more
more than just the words on this page
and on this screen
we are one under the sun
feeling her heat
embrace our skin
we laugh together
as she plays with light
tickling the spots between our eyes
we are one under the sun
just another stone
sinking to the bottom of the pond
I whisper to the stars
taped above my bed
let them hold my words
in their dim yellow glow
hold them
hold them
when I’m all alone
a cloud of words
drifting and drifting
trying to speak
the words
finding meaning
and nothing
new meaning
finding
words
more words
drifting
floating
the deep cuts
in the traveller’s hands
was where I saw a mountain range
carved into it
and a whole world
a story
waiting to be discovered
by the unknowing
by me
in the silences
between you and me
I feel
the warmth of your love
blanketing me
